Friends of KVTC

After a successful program in Karachi, the British Council invited 2 faculty members and 4 students for internships in their London office. Find out more (hyperlink to a page called ‘Global Pilot of Job Attachments for People with Learning Difficulties’.

KVTC considers British Council as one of its closest friends. We regularly engage in many activities & projects for the benefit of special needs children in Pakistan. Two most prominent examples include:

• KVTC is the only special needs (SEN) school to be chosen by the British Council to participate in the International Inspirations (link to II website) program in Pakistan. International Inspiration aims to deliver on the London Olympics 2012 Games' bid promise to 'reach young people all over the world and connect them to the inspirational power of the Games, so they are inspired to choose sport'. KVTC’s job is to ensure the element of inclusiveness during the program’s implementation in Pakistan.

• Global Pilot of Job Attachments for People with Learning Difficulties: The British Council undertook a successful 6 month pilot work-placement project for student internships from Dec 2004 to May 2005. According to the British Council London’s official report on the program, KVTC’s students exceeded expectations at every job they were assigned to.

• For the first time in Pakistan, mentally challenged trainees were involved in a student exchange program and were able to work in an actual office environment interacting with other co-workers.
